We wanted to have Vietnamese-style steak and decided to dine at Gia Thien (on 25 July) among the long list of interesting restaurants we have listed before arriving in Hoi An. Coincidentally, Gia Thien is situated only 3-minute walk from where we stayed at (The Signature Hoi An). Bella, our server, was friendly and warm. She explained the dishes in the menu book. She recommended the most favourites: Stir-fried beef luk lak (hot plate), deep fried red tilapia, and stir-fried morning glory vegetable. It turned out that the dishes were very delicious. The sliced young mango + raw fresh mint leaves were refreshing.

We came here for lunch and were extremely pleased with the staff, food, and atmosphere. I got the seafood noodles with mango smoothie, they were delicious. My husband got the braised chicken with lemongrass and chili, which he loved. Everything was affordable will definitely be back again.

Out of all the places we’ve tried during our stay in Vietnam, this restaurant was by far the best when it comes to food and overall experience. Every dish was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and prepared with great care. A special thank you to Ms. Maya, who took care of us with exceptional kindness and professionalism. She kindly offered us a seat on the balcony, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful view, even though we arrived about an hour before closing time. There was no rush, no pressure—just warm hospitality and genuine smiles. One lovely detail that stood out: when she noticed I was struggling with chopsticks, she immediately brought me cutlery without me even having to ask. It’s the little things like that which make a place truly special. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back before we leave, and we can only recommend that everyone visits this amazing place.

We came here twice before we could get a table. It is a beautiful restaurant. The food was excellent and very homey (i am Vietnamese). Traveling for weeks having some comfort food is “comforting” 🤣 Our server, Lisa, is extremely attentive and sweet. Will definitely come back.
