The moment you step in, you get a sense that this is not your average eatery — the décor carries a nostalgic, vintage vibe: 90s touches, rustic roofing, tire-table feet, palm-leaf roofing feel. It gives it character. Kattans is an aesthetically pleasing place to have nice chai and many other things. Inside the shop they have many drawings and writings of famous movie actors and dialogues. Unfortunately forgot to take some clicks of those drawings. It is located on the roadside and should be little careful of not missing the cut to enter the parking area. The chai was really good. Moreover, the pazhampori beef combo was too delicious. Seems like that combo wasn't a bad one. Its a must try. Overall the place was too good and has a lot of ambience with those night lights and cut out tyres to make it aesthetic. Visited Kattans, Palakkad on 4th Oct evening after checking out the mixed reviews. Tried Pazham Pori with Beef Roast — it was really good! Parotta with Chicken Roast was also nice. But the Ayakkora Fish Fry was too salty and the masala was burnt, couldn’t even finish it. Black tea was good. The place was quite crowded outside, and inside it was really hot with very poor air circulation — Sweating heavily even around 6 PM and got badly bitten by mosquitoes. Not really sure what vibe the place is going for — Overall, food is a hit or miss depending on what you order.

Kattans is an aesthetically pleasing place to have nice chai and many other things. Inside the shop they have many drawings and writings of famous movie actors and dialogues. Nice place to hang out and have some decent food and snacks. Tea is really good, and most of the snacks aren’t overdone, just simple and tasty.
