We had a wonderful dining experience at Petra Local Jordanian Experience Restaurant. We tasted small portions of Mansaf and Maqluba, which gave us a great introduction to traditional Jordanian cuisine. A single dish costs 15 JOD per person, and trying two small portions was 20 JOD per person, which felt slightly expensive for the portion size. However, the overall experience was excellent the food was authentic, freshly prepared, and full of traditional flavours. There was a minor hygiene issue (a hair found in the food), which we did not raise at the time due to discomfort. We believe it was unintentional and it did not significantly affect our overall experience. The hospitality and local atmosphere made it a special Jordanian experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone wanting to experience traditional food in Petra.

It was a really special experience. The food was very good and reasonably priced. More importantly, the host was very friendly and spoke good English. It’s a great chance to speak with Jordanian people and learn about Arabic culture. I would highly recommend going to this restaurant with plenty of time, because it’s not just about the food, but the experience chating with a Jordanian family.

Such a good experience. We came to do a cooking class and we made musakhan. They are so hospitable and we learned a lot about Jordanian culture, such as coffee. Making musakhan was a more complicated process than we expected, but with their help and patience making it was a really enjoyable experience. The end result tasted more delicious than when we tried it at a restaurant, more flavourful. A visit to Jordan isn't complete without the experience of authentic Jordanian food which can only be found in a home, not in a restaurant. Definitely come here!

We had a really great dinner at Anas and Saras place and could experience true jordanian cooking with them. We are vegetarian/vegan and cooked the dish "Saniyeh". It was really delicious and we can recommend this experience to everyone going to Petra\wadi musa.

Walked in thinking it was a restaurant and was greeted by a family with a newborn baby 👶 who welcomed us into their home to try cooking their dishes. Met 4 other travellers and had a meal together. An extremely unexpected but wonderful experience!!
