TLDR: Omakase & à la carte menu. The food is good but not mind-blowing. Lively and loud atmosphere. A paradise for tempura lovers. Don’t let the glowing reviews mislead you at the beginning. The food is good, but not the revelation you might expect from the ratings. The special course omakase includes some tasty dishes, but you should be aware that everything is done in tempura. The à la carte menu consists mostly of items from the omakase selection. If you love tempura, this place is great. For us, it was simply a bit too much. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lively — everyone is in a great mood, and the staff practically shouts when caviar is spooned onto a dish. It’s a fun experience, but if you prefer quiet dining, this is not the place for you. The food itself wasn’t bad — the tuna, wagyu, and mushrooms were very, very good. The wagyu roll ans shrimp on the other hand, wasn’t to our taste. We came with high expectations, but unfortunately, they were not met. I was able to be seated for dinner without a reservation. I was asked where I’m from and then was welcomed by a big cheer by all the staff! I loved how vibrant and friendly the atmosphere was! Every course was explained and the tempura was delicious! They really put on a cute show! Such a fun experience! It’s ended with a keepsake photo with one of the staff a truly delightful touch! Exceptional service, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed the food a lot, each dish was innovative and creative. I went alone but I felt very comfortable and staff were attentive. Highly recommend this to groups or single people if you’re looking for a good time! Thank you everyone, you’ve made my time in Kyto and would definitely come back :) p.s the dessert was amazing!!!

We had an amazing Omakase experience at Wagyu, Tempura Ten no Meshi in Kyoto! This place is a true hidden gem — elegant yet cozy, and every dish was prepared with incredible care and creativity. We ordered the Omakase Regular Course (¥7,150), which featured a perfect balance of flavors and textures from start to finish. Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious: - Mixed seafood tempura — light, crisp, and full of flavor - Salmon tempura topped with salmon roe — a creative and luxurious bite - Chicken tempura and shrimp tempura roll — comforting yet refined - Eggplant with miso glaze — rich and savory perfection - Wagyu rare tempura (lean cut) and Wagyu tempura with sukiyaki flavor — the stars of the show! Tender, juicy, and bursting with umami - Shrimp tempura rice bowl with egg — hearty and satisfying - And finally, the “Miraculous” sweet potato tempura with vanilla ice cream — the perfect ending! Every dish came out at just the right pace, and the chefs’ attention to detail was amazing. The tempura was light and never oily, allowing each ingredient’s flavor to shine. If you’re in Kyoto and looking for a memorable omakase tempura experience, this is the place to go. We left completely satisfied and can’t wait to come back!

We stumbled upon Tennomeshi while searching for good food around Gion area. We were surprised initially as it seemed like we were the only guests, but the restaurant filled up very quickly. It was our first experience with tempura omakase, but everything tasted so good and the service - top notch! They were so enthusiastic and it was a really awesome dining experience! We would definitely love to come back again!
