Dont be afraid to order more dishes as the food portions are more like small appetisers rather than as a main itself. I think one person could easily eat 2 or 3 dishes. They give free bread and breadstick also as well. The service was really good too, the female server was very friendly. A fantastic concept — Italian-style tapas! The quality of the food is outstanding, and the service (especially Rocco:)) is warm and attentive. Both the indoor space and the garden offer a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place! We're under no illusion that Zurich is expensive however we felt that Trattoria Sempre Zurich wasn't honest on the menu out side. Firstly you learn at the table that it's tapas, Italian tapas? We had to get the waiter to explain that one again. Unfortunately for us, curiosity got the better of us. In a nut shell it's a tourist grab. Italian food should never be tapas. Now the taste was there, well in the polpette and the salad but the rest I thought was substandard. To charge what I would consider the correct price for the correct position would have been fine. But less than that for 6 slivers of beef and half of that was fat, not good. I could go on. If you want tapas and to pay a high price for it then fill you boots. Personally that's one trick I won't be falling for again. I am not a reviewer that blast everyone so when I do, take note. Something wasn't right.

We chose this Italian restaurant as our last dinner in Zurich since gnocchi was highly recommended. We were able to be seated at 5pm with no reservation on a Friday night so long as we were done by 6pm. We had no idea it was a small plates concept. My husband and I share the veal cutlets and gnocchi. My sister and her husband had the gnocchi, pasta with short rib ragout, and personal pizza with prosciutto & burrata. Everything was delicious and enjoyed by all of us. Wonderful atmosphere.
