Mikes Heritage House

I've been meaning to come to Mike's Heritage House for years and finally made it. What a wonderful time. We had breakfast and the portions were very generous. Then we stayed for dessert. Yes we did. I was on a nostalgic drive as my late Dad used to bring us Mike's Kitchen cheesecake in Bellville whenever they had work lunches or dinners there. I've been yearning for it for years. And it is JUST as good as it was in the late 80's. We've already planned our next visit. Thank you to the wonderful and attentive staff.

We had a lovely lunch in this beautiful old house today. We walked around and explored the house before lunch. The calamari tubes were excellent and the squid heads were OK, the kingklip (which came with more calamari tubes) was very tasty but had a few bones and the tiramisu has joined my list of the three best tiramisus in South Africa. Recommend a visit. We also had our first thunderstorm and hail of the year while we were there today.

An absolute 10/10 restaurant, here's why. The location is good and not at all hard to find with GPS. There's enough parking, and we didn't struggle to find a suitable spot. The restaurant itself is so beautiful. The outdoor seating is set out in the garden that has a gorgeous green lawn and beautiful colors of flowers all around. We called ahead of time to make a reservation and that process was so simple. The menu is mouthwatering and have a nice variety of different starters, mains and desserts to choose from. Here's what we ate Drinks: Peppermint crisp, peppermint Aero & caramel & Strawberry wonderland milkshake. These were a treat to the eyes and the tummy. Starters: Lamb samoosas - This was so good, the pasty is made from phyllo pastry which is nice and crispy when fried and the lamb mince was flavored to perfection which was a surprise. Mains: Jaw breaker and shack burgers. Both burgers were massive in size but were packed with filling and flavor. Of course we didn't finish the burger but they were so so good. The burgers come with chips and onion rings (that's always a winning combo). Desserts: Unfortunately we didn't make it to dessert because we were so full but their dessert menu looks SO good!

I truly enjoyed Mike’s heritage house. At first I was disappointed by the fact that they don’t serve any Italian food like pasta, pizza and therefore I settled for their Sirloin Steak and it was the best steak I ever tasted, truly enjoyed every bite of it and the veggies were to die for. The service was very efficient from our waitress and I loved the outdoor atmosphere. We finished our day with slap chips and let me tell you this place is called heritage for a reason, they cook everything like they founded those meals therefore making these meals their heritage site to visit I definitely recommend Mike’s heritage.

The staff was very professional and kind, the services was quick and the food was amazing. I loved everything about the place, it was my first time going there and I'll definitely be going again in the future. Thank you so much Falathi for making my birthday extra special.
