Our dinner at Avista Mediterranean was the perfect finale to our Madeira trip! The setting is absolutely breathtaking—perched above the ocean with sunset views that feel straight out of a dream. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, perfectly matching the stunning scenery. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the wonderful staff. They went above and beyond when I accidentally left my purse—with my heart medication inside—at the restaurant. They acted so quickly and kindly to make sure I got it back just in time before my flight. I’m beyond grateful for their care and professionalism. If you’re ever in Funchal, don’t miss Avista—not just for the view and the food, but for the people who make it truly special. 🌅💛 That was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The kitchen has your typical Michelin small dishes with flavors from the island, Portugal and the Mediterranean with some pinches of Asia. All well balanced and we went home stuffed with a smile on our faces.

That was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We were celebrating a special anniversary and the setting was perfect. The staff were very friendly/knowledgeable and added to the occasion. Thanks for a great night/meal and would definitely recommend to book here.

Great food at a great location served by a more then helpfull and friendly staff. Come early for the best seating. We had a vegi and a normal experience with a wine pairing and 2 cocktails. The kitchen has your typical Michelin small dishes with flavors from the island, Portugal and the Mediterranean with some pinches of Asia. All well balanced and we went home stuffed with a smile on our faces.

We came for drinks & a nice view and stayed for an even better dinner. The service was excellent, the Cannelloni & Scallops Risotto were delicious. That’s why we decided to spend another evening here. Can recommend!

We came to Avista for lunch and had a lovely experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the setting is truly stunning with a superb view that makes the meal even more special. Service was attentive and professional, though we did find the warmth and friendliness a little less than what we’ve enjoyed at some other restaurants in Madeira. Overall, a great spot for a quality lunch with an unbeatable view.
