We went to Doña Nina due to a couple we spoke earlier during our morning walk, had highly recommended to try it. I had lamb chops and my husband had shrimp pasta. Starters we had Parma ham on toast with fresh parmesan. Food was on the pricier side but tasty. However … I was left hoping that my lamb chops would have come with additional vegetable with it, it felt so plain with just a small piece of local sweet potato, like something was missing. Wine was good and Restaurant was full. We sat outside which was really nice.

Definitely one of the best, if not the best, restaurants in Funchal. During our two-week stay, we ate here probably seven or eight times. The food was perfect every time. From the steak on a hot stone to the fish of the day (Dorada) and salmon soup. The service is perfect, very friendly, and gave us a very personalized service. We love this place and recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the best food and service in Madeira.

There is no wonder this place has over 2,000 5 star reviews. The food is absolutely amazing, we had the seafood platter and tagliatelle with prawns and both were incredibly tasty. We started with coco do caco which is undeniably some of the nice garlic bread I’ve ever had. The white sangria was so fruity. Desserts were delicious we had the banana crêpe and chocolate mousse which were delicious. Finally the staff and atmosphere was amazing, the place feels warming and authentic. 100/10 would recommend

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The food was perfect. The service was outstanding—super friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. We were initially seated inside, but when a table opened up in the charming outdoor area, the staff kindly offered us the chance to move, which made our evening even more special. To top it off, they surprised us with complimentary glasses of traditional Madeira wine as a digestif, a wonderful gesture that highlighted their warm hospitality. We highly recommend this place for an unforgettable meal and impeccable service!

First night at Madeira and ended up at Dona Nina for dinner. Food was sensational! We had soup and prawns for starters and tuna and salmon for mains. DELICIOUS! Ended the meal with a tiramisu ❤️. Staff is really friendly and they just seem happy: such a good atmosphere! Hopefully we’ll be coming back for some more sensational food!
